Jonathan grew up in Auburn and attend the University of Maine in Orono, graduating with a B.S. in chemical engineering. He returned to Maine, from his first position in Boston, to begin taking graduate courses in public administration back at the University of Maine. He worked for several years in transportation planning and policy and recently ended a six year stint with the Androscoggin Land Trust, where he assisted in nearly doubling their conserved land and integrated their work into local community development. He has been honored to be named to the MaineBiz Next List, the Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce businessman of the year and also to Maine Today Medias Forty under 40 list. In public service, he was first elected in 2008 as an Androscoggin County Commission. In 2011, he was elected as the youngest Mayor in Auburn’s history and was re-elected in 2013. He currently serves as the Director of the Governor’s Office of Policy and Management for the LePage Administration.
