Alyne Kemunto Cistone is a Kenyan born attorney. She attained her legal education both in Kenya (University of Nairobi, Kenya, School of Law) and in the United States (Case Western Reserve University, School of Law, Cleveland, Ohio).
Alyne’s professional career includes previous work at the Constitution Review Commission of Kenya (Nairobi, Kenya), Amnesty International (Washington DC), the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland (Cleveland, Ohio), Visiting Faculty at College of the Atlantic (Bar Harbor, Maine) and Executive Director of Island Housing Trust (Mount Desert, Maine). Alyne volunteers for the SPCA and the World Ocean Radio and serves on the board of trustees of College of the Atlantic. She currently works at Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park.
Alyne has an inborn passion for social justice, human rights, oceans and environmental conservation, advancement of education and community development. She resides in Somesville, Mount Desert Island, Maine with her family.
