R. Aileen Yingst, a Senior Scientist for the Planetary Science Institute, is the Deputy Principal Investigator for the MArs Hand Lens Imager on the Mars Science Laboratory rover Curiosity. She also serves as a Participating Scientist on the Mars Exploration Rover and recently on the Dawn at Vesta mission. Prior to that she did postdoctoral work in multispectral analysis on the Mars Pathfinder and Mars Polar Lander missions. Dr. Yingst received her AB from Dartmouth College in Physics and Astronomy, and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Brown University.
