Gavin Phelan

Gavin Phelan is 16 years old and the founder of ALRM, an AI-powered app that detects emergency sounds such as fire alarms and sirens and turns them into visual and haptic alerts for people who don’t rely on sound. Gavin started ALRM after the 2023 Lewiston mass shooting, when he saw how many people could be left out of an emergency warning. He builds the technology himself, guided by the principle “Nothing About Us Without Us.”
