What Does FLUX Mean for TEDxDirigo 2025?
Change isn’t just coming—it’s already here. In our climate, in our communities, in our technologies, and in our day-to-day lives. Even the return of TEDxDirigo is an outcome of that change. For this year’s event, we’re leaning into that reality with a new theme: FLUX.
Flux is the state of continuous change. It is the ebb and flow of the tides, the circling of the planets. It’s the movement, disruption, and transition that defines modern life. It’s the feeling of standing on shifting ground and it’s the opportunity that comes when we choose to move with it.
“We were drawn to FLUX because it’s both unsettling and full of possibility. It captures what so many of us are experiencing right now, personally and collectively. We want to explore and share how people are navigating that.”
As always, TEDxDirigo will feature scientists, artists, and changemakers sharing ideas that challenge the status quo. But this year, you’ll see something different: a deeper look at how those ideas emerge and evolve in moments of uncertainty.
“We kept coming back to this idea that transformation often starts with discomfort. FLUX is about honoring that discomfort—and the creativity, clarity, and courage it can spark.””
Expect stories of adaptation, reinvention, and resilience. Talks that don’t just reflect where we are but also point toward where we’re going.
As we head toward the event in November, we’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes updates, speaker spotlights, and ways for you to engage with this year’s theme. For now, we invite you to sit with the word FLUX. What does it mean to you? What have you learned in your own seasons of change?
Let’s find out—together.
